I don’t think Jesse’s claim is true. I don’t think he “saw a cell phone” in Brad Terrell’s hand.
See links at the end of this article for my more complete coverage of this important story.
In November of 2022, Jesse Boyd’s vehicle was parked where it did not belong; in a traffic lane, facing traffic, and partially blocking entrance to Brad Terrell’s property located at the intersection of Highway 287 and Cameron Drive in Madison County Montana.
Brad told Jesse to move his vehicle. Jesse doesn’t like being told what to do, especially in cases like this where Jesse falsely believed he had God-given, constitutional rights to stay as long as he wanted.
Jesse, who has a history of bullying, especially when he thinks he is in the right, taunted, teased and enticed Brad into a confrontation. Jesse has a history of being a successful bully, but this time things did not turn out the way Jesse anticipated and much desired.
There was a scuffle, and Brad got the better of Jesse Boyd, a professional martial arts instructor. But that was not the end of it. Three others with Jesse, Carter Phillips, Eric Trent, and Bethany Boyd, joined in, with a flagpole and 4′ wooden cross used to beat on Brad.
Brad was beat into submission; law enforcement was called. Ultimately, Jesse, Eric, Carter, & Bethany (The Montana 4 / TM4) were arrested and charged with felony assault with weapons.
The Montana 4 are awaiting trial.
It has been almost a year since the incident. Jesse Boyd has published a lot of material about the incident and had many interviews in which he recounted the scene on November 12, 2022. Jesse’s interview with Jerry Cook was typical of those that have gone before; just the presentation of his false narrative. However, I noticed something different in the interview with Jerry Cook.
I don’t recall hearing or seeing in any of Jesse’s previous recitations any claim that Brad had a cell phone in his hand. I don’t recall seeing in any of the legal documents any claim that Brad had a cell phone in his hand.
For reasons unknown, I think Jesse Boyd simply made up his cell phone claim in his interview with Jerry Cook.
As proposed in my earlier coverage of this story, Jesse’s account of what happened has a lot of problems, including Jesse’s account with Jerry Cook independent of the cell phone claim. The cell phone claim, however, is new and quite significant.
Jesse Boyd, Carter Phillips, Eric Trent, and Bethany Boyd fear going to trial, being placed under oath, offering their testimony, under oath, and being cross-examined and the lies exposed.
