Lee Kenworthy v. The World
Memorial Day 2018

Background:
.
On Memorial Day 2018, in Whiting, New Jersey, child protective services was called upon to make a welfare check on 2 children who were located at the residence at 72 Constitution Boulevard.
.
The children’s mother is deceased and the father, Lee Kenworthy, was staying at the address noted along with a young woman named Samantha Brown.
.
Lee Kenworthy began “live-streaming” on FaceBook and refused to allow child protective services to conduct the welfare check. Police assistance was requested and arrived.
.
Shara Michelle, characterizing herself as a reporter for Freedom Public Press, showed up some time after the incident began and also began live-streaming via FaceBook. No other local or national media sent reporters to the scene or otherwise appear to have picked up on the story and reported it.
.
After a stand-off lasting several hours, the children were removed into State custody and Mr. Kenworthy was taken to a mental health facility for observation as a consequence of his behavior during the incident.
.
It was determined that Mr. Kenworthy should remain in a mental health facility for evaluation and/or treatment. He left that facility on his own accord, was jailed briefly for contempt, and then was returned to a mental health facility for treatment and/or evaluation.
.
The whereabouts of Samantha Brown are unknown. I asked her, and she refused to confirm any of the rumors about whether she was remaining in the indicated residence or moved elsewhere.

Discussion:
.
The State’s actions appear to be legally and factually justified and the children’s rights and the rights of Lee Kenworthy are protected, are being protected by due process. Due to privacy rights in such cases, much information is not readily available or subject to easy confirmation.
.
Despite that, there has been a concerted effort by some to champion the case of Lee Kenworthy in the on-going anti-government, anti-child welfare “movement”. This has been evident by the reporting done and involvement in the case by such persons as Jamie Sparks Wehrheim Johnson, Francesca Amato-Banfield, Shara Michelle, Jennifer Winn, Merissa Hamilton, Meko Haze, and others. Many early supporters of what I consider the False Kenworthy Narrative have appeared to distance themselves from the case because it has become ever more evident that Mr. Kenworthy has some serious mental and other issues and the children, quite legitimately, should not be in his custody at the present time.

The record which has been broadcast primarily on FaceBook since the events of Memorial Day 2018 has been tampered with substantially, with many live-feeds or recorded broadcasts being deleted as well as much of the commentary posted to various FaceBook pages.

He’s getting the help he severely needs and I doubt this facility is going to be open with Sam like the last because after him breaking a window and escaping the other one I suspect it’s more secure.

If you are the reporter you claim to be you would simply release the documents and not try to make non-professional opinions on what they say.

If you don’t provide pictures of the documents then nobody is going to believe what you say anyway because you either interpret it yourself like the first video claiming his rights were broken, or it came from someone close to him like Sam. We certainly know she’s not a reliable source.

So, if you are going to report this then do so or lose more reputation among those of us who are interested in your reporting.

While you are delaying those like Robert Baty are scooping you severely on their websites.

Time to show the documents or tell us why you can’t besides you are reviewing them and it’s taking time or you can’t because someone won’t let you.

By the way. I’ve owned a radio station in my younger days and I have my college minor in journalism. An investigative reporter is a journalist. You don’t ever, ever announce a story before it’s ready to air or it will destroy your credibility with the audience. If you announce it and things change you do a show on what specifically has changed and why exactly you couldn’t put it on.

My guess? You got some of Lee’s personal papers from Sam and you are trying your best to google and find a fit to your narrative if Lee.

Time to put up or do a show telling the specifics of why you can’t.

It’s been 32 days now and you’ve only done two shows and besides what we saw in the yard in the first show we haven’t learned a darn thing except the police and an ambulance were at his house. Your credibility is waning fast and I don’t think you want this to happen.

As it turns out, Samantha Brown, Lee Kenworthy’s open marriage 3rd party participant and girlfriend, was the one who actually affected service of the summonses for Lee.

Looks like everyone except Adapt Pharma will be asking the Court to dismiss Lee Kenworthy’s case against the Lyndhurst Police Department, et al, over the death of his wife, and Adapt Pharma is asking for more time (I think to prepare their motion to dismiss).
The defendants indicate they will be asking for the dismissal, with prejudice, and with costs.

My Evaluation Is Stated Below
I propose the only reason we are hearing this from Shara Michelle is because I first reported the latest actions in the Kenworthy/Lyndhurst case and it just ticked her off. Notice that Shara says nothing, nor does she explain why nothing is said, regarding what “favorable” means in the context of the alleged settlement of the Kenworthy/Housing Authority case.
The False Kenworthy Narrative continues as Shara Michelle continues to advocate under the guise of the fictitious Freedom Public Press label.
I have changed the format of Shara’s post to make it a little easier to read and follow.

I understand that to be one version, an incomplete version, of the False Kenworthy Narrative concocted to support a wrongful death claim. A close inspection, however, I believe, will reveal that even that lame effort actually supports my position on the matter.

I am more than willing to let the issue be decided in court, perhaps state court after the federal case is dismissed, if it is dismissed. However, I’m thinking Lee won’t survive with any legitimate claims if the case is allowed to proceed because, it seems to me, he’s got no case because he is responsible for the death of Shayling that night.

Heather Christensen & Cally Esposito obtained new, temporary restraining orders against Lee Kenworthy as a result of Lee’s antics on FaceBook in attacking and threatening them.
Court proceedings were held on May 20 to consider making the temporary orders permanent.
Lee Kenworthy did not show up.
Heather was granted a permanent restraining order.
Cally was given more time to present evidence, and her case was reset for May 29 when Lee will have yet another opportunity to present himself and his position on the matter.

In the wrongful death suit, the Court has interpreted Lee’s letter, document 56, as claiming Lee had retained an attorney and has advised Lee that if such an attorney wants to take part in the case he must file an entry of appearance “promptly”.

Reports are coming in that Lee Kenworthy was arrested late Saturday night, October 12, 2019, by Fort Lee Police with cooperation by Englewood Police, and likely a result of the warrant issued as indicated below:
That warrant was issued October 10, 2019 for violations of a restraining order which would appear to be the restraining order previously obtained by Heather Christensen and which some have observed Lee Kenworthy repeatedly violated.
The following shows both Lee Kenworthy and Samantha Brown, his girlfriend, were arrested and in Bergen County Jail, but that Samantha was released today, October 13, 2019. As of the update of the website, it appears Lee had not been released.

A former Lyndhurst man who blames authorities for his wife’s death – and last year got into a standoff with police during a welfare check on their children — was arrested in Fort Lee with his girlfriend over the weekend on charges of cyber harassment and violating a restraining order.
Seized along with Lee Kenworthy, 41, was Samantha Brown, 27, both of Englewood, Fort Lee police said.
Among court action that Kenworthy has taken against various people and agencies over the years is a wrongful death suit in Bergen County alleging a cover-up of what he claims was his late wife’s murder.
Shayling “Shay” Kenworthy, 38, died suddenly on Aug. 17, 2016. Her family has disputed her widower’s conspiracy theory, saying that she’d succumbed to complications from asthma.
The couple had been involved in a series of disputes with their Lyndhurst landlord, a retired Jersey City police chief. They apparently were moving out the day she died, authorities said.
Lyndhurst police initially were called by a neighbor complaining about a blocked driveway. Soon after, they said, Kenworthy called to report that his wife was having a medical episode.
Police got there first. They summoned EMS, who tried in vain to save her, responders said.
Kenworthy, whose criminal history stretches back more than a decade, established a GoFundMe page that has since been removed, as well as several YouTube videos that also were taken down and various web pages all centering on the circumstances of his wife’s death.
Police in the Ocean County town of Whiting were called on Memorial Day last year after Kenworthy reportedly refused to let child protective services workers do a welfare check on his and his late wife’s two children.
Kenworthy live-streamed on Facebook what became an hours-long standoff that finally ended with the children temporarily in state custody and him briefly lodged in a mental health facility.
Recently, Brown published screen shots of Facebook blocks and violation notices, as well as messages from a group administrator who accused her and Kenworthy of harassing him.
The administrator noted that Brown picked up the campaign after Facebook blocked Kenworthy. He threatened to notify local police.
Brown, in turn, said they’d been merely commenting.
Then came this weekend’s arrests.
Fort Lee officers looking for the two spotted them just after 9 p.m. Saturday near the Route 4 underpass on Grand Avenue, Police Capt. Ricky Mirkovic said.
Brown was taken into custody without incident, he said, but Kenworthy ran across Route 4 into a wooded area.
Officer Christopher Richter deployed his K9 partner, Bodie, who found Kenworthy in the backyard of a Rockwood Place home, the captain said.
Officers surrounded and captured Kenworthy without further incident, he said.
Without disclosing details in order to protect the victim, Mirkovic said that Kenworthy was charged with violating a final restraining order and cyber harassment, as well as resisting arrest. He remained held Tuesday in the Bergen County Jail.
Brown was charged with conspiracy and released, the captain said.

Reports are that Samantha’s mother has arrived in New Jersey and will be helping Samantha resolve her legal problems and then will be returning with Samantha to California and the ties to Lee Kenworthy will be severed, if not already done so.

Part of the issue with the evictions is that they were living apart, or supposed to be living apart so that Shay could have custody of the kids, a significant part of the time. It also involves multiple states, cities, counties, municipal and landlord/tenant courts. I’ve actually found records of both forcible detainer (eviction) and landlord judgments against each of them. I think it just depended on who was “officially” renting the place. I’m too tired to create all of the jpegs right now, but just a quick tour (and not complete by any means):

It’s well past my bedtime right now and I’m bleary eyed so I don’t know how well I’ve proofread my dates and numbers here, but this is the low hanging fruit I have found in the civil judgment and eviction/forcible detainer arena.
The criminal stuff is WAY more extensive for Lee and in so many counties and states, all of which have to mostly be individually searched at the municipal, superior and district level. But if you feel like tracking down more detail on these cases, I think I’ve given enough info to allow for a targeted approach!

I feel, more and more, like it’s important to show that their story was not one of selfless activists being persecuted and retaliated against, but rather one of neglectful parents engaged in daily drug use, under- and unemployed (particularly Lee) and not meeting their financial obligations as adults and parents. Worse, they were also taking advantage of people who either tried to help them or, as in the recent case with the young couple who “subletted’ from Lee, they were being scammed. Add to that Lee and Sam’s history of blackmail and extortion, and I think you see pretty clearly that there is no “higher moral purpose” to any of what they have done.
And, yes, Laura Martinez, one of the other things is you can tell when you look at their residential history when they were living for free in buildings managed by Shay’s dad, when they were living with their parents, and when they were living for free while Lee worked for the Housing Authority. They seriously avoided paying rent a LOT.

I swore I was NOT going to do this. Do you have any idea how long it takes, especially on the criminal side, to track down charges in so many different jurisdictions? I’m not even going to include all of the traffic/street/driving violations because it would never end (though he did spend time in jail repeatedly and was fined many thousands of dollars for driving on a suspended/without a license, without insurance, without registration, etc.

This is exhausting, but I’ve found five more judgments against Lee and Shay in Bergen County alone, three of which are Landlord/Tenant judgments or evictions for non-payment of rent. Included in this batch is THE eviction that he blames for his wife’s death.
Of INCREDIBLE note is that the Andersen’s filed their Landlord/Tenant civil action on 7/7/16, more than a MONTH before Shay died. They were suing for the $4400 in back rent. That’s the money Lee SWEARS he had and just wanted to pay in a lawyer’s office. This document gives lie to that claim because he was served and could have made payment through the court at any time. It also shows that the Andersen’s were well on their way to being made whole for the back rent through legal means. NO ONE killed Shayling because of yet another eviction/non-payment of rent by Shay and Lee. This document destroys Lee’s narrative.

One of the things that became clear in the many hours I have spent on this (and not just today; I just decided to start consolidating and publishing today finally), is that Lee racked up literally tens of thousands of dollars in fines for driving without a license, failure to pay parking and speeding tickets, failure to insure, failure to pay fines he agreed to for other charges. I’m not saying that Shay did have a lot of money, but between Lee’s drug habit and criminal activity habit, they wasted a lot of money that might have, I dunno, gone toward rent or registering and insuring a car, etc. Paying his unending fines became one of the only ways to keep him out of jail after a few years and they were always playing catch up if you look at the payment histories to the many courts, hoping he wouldn’t get picked up, but he always did because he just doesn’t believe he has to obey the law.
There’s a lot more, some of it pretty relevant, but I have pretty rigid standards for confirming facts, records and even court documents before going public. Let’s just say that if Lee decides he wants to come for me for exposing the utter and complete lie of his entire life and of Shay’s life as “activists,” he might want to hold his fire.
Beyond that, I will say that it is also utterly sad to watch a bright and motivated young woman who attended college and was succeeding in her own right be brought so low by such a lying loser and con man. I know she made her own choices, too, but I also see those kids as hostages and, once they were in the picture, she was vulnerable in a way that only a mother can understand. He absolutely used that against her (as shown in multiple videos). She didn’t deserve to die and I wish she had made it out with her kids away from Lee. He compromised and destroyed her.

So, I just added another 7 or 8 charges for Lee from 2007 in Lodi. They relate to three incidents, two involving possession of drugs/driving in possession/destruction of evidence etc. in March and April of that year, and then SURPRISE! in July, Lee has ANOTHER two charges for SIMPLE ASSAULT. I included the listing from Lodi because they look like identical charges but are listed separate and as “associated cases.” I don’t know if he assaulted two people at the same time, or if this is a clerical error.
What I do know is that his long speech yesterday about NO OTHER ASSAULTS than the 1999 knife fight/mafia hit (lol) and the 2016 assault against Shay as his only assault charges is not true. Here in 2007 he has another arrest for the same. Also, if you look at the possession/driving while suspended/driving while possession/destruction of evidence and assault charges at the bail amounts (many thousands) and the fine amounts (many thousand), you get an idea how they were spending their money!

Also, his claim that there were no charges/problems before SIa was born is clearly a lie. (Lee, you should not have stated in your video “where are the charges” before Sia was born. It encouraged me to continue my laborious task of documenting the truth!) He brought a lot of criminal charges into their lives, including drugs and violence, and then admitted himself for a cocaine habit (I have your written statement admitting it, Lee!) while then also allowing Shay to “take the charge” for the very serious “theft by deception” charges in Hackensack while he did his usual snitch/mental health/rehab admit to duck responsibility. They were homeless, jobless and broken up on and off in the years leading up to Sia’s birth (all Shay’s statements, plus the evictions and judgments), and this behavior and the resulting legal processes absolutely invited scrutiny by social services into their lives.
