Jesse Boyd, Eric Trent, Carter Phillips, and Bethany Boyd (aka The Montana 4) have been charged with felony assault with weapons (gun, flagpole, wooden cross) resulting from an incident at the intersection of Cameron Drive and Highway 287 in Madison County Montana on November 12, 2022.

Upon their arrest they were able to quickly find local support in the form of John Lamb and Roger Roots. John Lamb is an activist of sorts in Montana and Roger Roots is a partner in the firm John Pierce Law, which most recently has specialized in representing Capitol Breach (Washington, D.C. – January 6, 2021) defendants.

This article is designed to report on why it is that Roger Roots is hardly allowed to practice law anywhere and memorialize a letter written by Steven M. McInnis to the BAR in protest of his admission in the year 2000.
